How can you isolate, Gram negative rods Gram positive cocci?

I have a pure culture of G + cocci, but I can not take out sticks. I have tried to use insulation strips and I have tried with a plate DOC. Neither will have travaillé.Peut that I was not clear. I insulation strips for several years and have obtained a pure culture of G + cocci. All other crops are still mixed, and I was not able to isolate, the G-stem. But I have no experience with the agar-agar MacConkey today we shall soon see.

Try MacConkey agar. The bile salts kill most Gram positives.

Although if you have a pure culture, there shouldn’t be anything else in it.

Like answer number 1 said, you don’t have a pure culture if you still have rods.

You may need to try streak isolation a few more times. Remember only a tiny dab of bacteria is needed, and just make one squiggle on the new Petri dish.
